Reverse Incremental Backup
Efficient backups and reliable recoveries
All backups are not equal. Despite the common assumption that backups are generic, multiple techniques exist, and each brings a mix of advantages, disadvantages and ideal use cases.
Intronis Backup leverages a technique called reverse incremental backup for several of its backup services. Though relatively obscure, reverse incremental enables more efficient and reliable backup and recovery than techniques used by most other backup vendors. Most importantly, the technique helps our IT service provider partners achieve high client satisfaction and improved account retention.
This 4-minute video explains reverse incremental and its advantages:
- How reverse incremental backup compares to more familiar approaches
- Why the efficient use of both network and storage resources is mission-critical
- Which data protection functions are better managed during backup than during recovery
- Why the secret to an effective backup solution is a smart approach to disaster recovery
